During Neurotoxin Treatment

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A BOTOX® Cosmetic TREATMENT?

BOTOX® Cosmetic procedure is a quick, simple 10-minute treatment that requires no anesthesia and minimal downtime. Though most patients receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic report minimal discomfort, others may report the injections feel like a pinch. You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment.

For optimal results, regularly scheduled treatment every 3-4 months will aid in maintaining the desired results.  If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines will gradually return.

Botox® Cosmetic Treatment

  • Duration and Procedure: Botox® treatments are typically quick, often taking about 10 to 15 minutes. They require no anesthesia and have minimal downtime. Most patients report minimal discomfort, often described as a pinch[1][5].
  • Onset and Duration of Results: You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, but it can take up to 7 to 14 days for the full effects to manifest[5][6]. The results last approximately 3 to 4 months, and regular treatments every 3-4 months are recommended to maintain results[5][6].

Dysport® Treatment

  • Duration and Procedure: Dysport® treatments are also quick, typically lasting 10 to 20 minutes. They are similar to other neurotoxin procedures[4][7].
  • Onset and Duration of Results: Improvement can usually be seen within 2 to 3 days after treatment, with full effects visible in about two weeks. The results generally last 3 to 5 months[4][7].

Xeomin® Treatment

  • Duration and Procedure: Xeomin® treatments are similar in duration to Botox® and Dysport®, taking about 10 to 20 minutes[2][9].
  • Onset and Duration of Results: Improvement can be seen as early as 48 to 72 hours after treatment, with results lasting around 3 to 4 months[8][9].

Individual experiences may vary based on factors such as the specific formulation used, the area treated, and the patient’s unique response to the treatment. It’s always important to consult with a qualified healthcare provider for personalized advice and to set realistic expectations.
